Short stories between 2,000 and 15,000 words.

We're accepting contemporary science fiction, supernatural, slipstream and fantasy short stories for distribution in our upcoming subscription-based short story service.

We'll consider previously published material and even simultaneous submissions, just be up front about the history of the piece in your cover letter. Also give us a heads up on the word count.

We try to respond in about 2 weeks, but it might take us longer. You can check the status of your submission online. We require a minimum of first ebook rights, worldwide and non-exclusive anthology rights for a short period -- but the specifics will be unique to your story. If we're interested, we'll let you know and hammer out the details then.

We offer a flat fee for short stories in this category.

Novel Queries

Size limit: 1000

We will accept QUERIES for long-form sci-fi or fantasy novels provided that your work is 1) complete and 2) greater than 50,000 words but less than 80,000 words.

Please submit a brief query describing your novel's story, its genre and its word count. It would also be helpful to know a little about your writing experience, though no experience is necessary, so don't worry if its limited.

Along with the query, please submit the first 500 - 1000 words of your novel as an upload. We'll get in touch if we'd like to see the rest, so please — just the first 500 - 1000 words.

Some things to note:
- We are a royalty-only publisher, and rarely pay advances.
- There is no fee to submit to us, for us to read your work or to publish it. If we like what we see, we'll take on the job of creating a cover, working with you to edit and then getting it out in the world.
- We prefer working with authors on smaller projects first. If your writing experience is limited, it may be better to start in our short story category.
- We do not accept simultaneous or previously published submissions in this category.
